Steffen Bechtel has many years of experience in offshore flight operations and has specialized in helicopter operations in offshore wind parks.
From his time as a captain and flight instructor of the Search and Rescue (SAR) helicopter "Sea King" in the German Navy he is quite familiar with all facets of national and international offshore flying.
For many years he has worked as a pilot in the offshore wind park HORNS REV (Esbjerg, Denmark). From the beginning he has accompanied this project by flying and helped to develop the appropriate procedures.
Moreover he has flown helicopters for sea pilot transfer in the north sea, as a captain on rescue helicopters and until today serves as a pilot for different offshore projects in the wind energy sector.

Due to his experiences and professional qualifications Steffen Bechtel became associated member in the BDSF (Federal registered association of German experts and technical consultants for expert services) as "Expert for offshore flight operations and helidecks" in October 2010. In May 2014 he was certified according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17024 as „Expert for Offshore Flight Operations, Helidecks and Hoist Areas“ and authorized to bear the title „BDSF approved Expert for Offshore Flight Operations, Helidecks and Hoist Areas“. He is listed in the respective expert register and authorized to bear the above mentioned titles.
